St John's Rd

Sad news!  The FPC have begun the road works into the Helm’s block to proceed with logging.
We are barred from using St John’s Road. BUT we have another option.
READ ON and don’t despair.
We will now meet at Jamarri Bird Sanctuary (41 Johnston Road Jalbarragup) at 10.45 approx.  Dee Patterson will show us her wonderful birds and then direct us to a location from where we can walk (safely) into the forest to another she-oak grove.  It just means walking, so hats, closed shoes and long pants and lunch (backpack ?) are the go for the day.
Perhaps for some of us, taking photos of the birds will be what we are interested in especially if walking in the forest is an issue for you.
Still come!!  It will be a great day for us all.
The directions to the Sanctuary are as follows. See below for different maps depending where you are coming from.
From Bunbury or Busselton
turn into Sue’s Rd, Turn left into Mowen Rd,  Turn right into Jalbarragup Road – proceed along Jalbarragup rd and turn left into Johnston Rd – number 41 is the destination.  41 Johnston Rd, Jalbarragup WA 6275 –

  1. It’s heartbreaking…. to see them close off ALL the forest to hide what they are doing…..
If you are driving to Nannup first, here are the quickest directions to Jamarri via Nannup>>>>

Jamarri Black Cockatoo Rehabilitation Centre, Lot 41 Johnston Rd Jalbarragup. (From Nannup head for Augusta, 17kms out of Nannup turn right onto Stacey Rd, then right onto Jalbarragup Rd, then right onto Johnston and look for lot 41 on the left) See you there… 🙂
